A friend asked me that question a few days ago.
Not gonna lie…
Instead of sending a two-line reply, I ended up writing a ridiculously long message.
Then I thought…
Maybe other people are asking the exact same questions.
So here’s how the conversation went.

«I’m thinking about celebrating New Year’s Eve 2027 in Nashville, USA. Good idea?»
Me:
Absolutely.
Honestly, New Year’s Eve is one of the most exciting times to visit almost any destination.
The atmosphere is different.
People stay out later.
Restaurants are busier.
The streets feel more alive.
Even if you’re not a party person, there’s usually something happening that makes the holiday feel special.

«So… what’s the first thing I should book?»
Me:
Accommodation.
Without a doubt.
Don’t even start looking at restaurants or tours until you’ve figured out where you’re sleeping.
Hotels near the city center—or wherever the main celebrations happen—usually disappear much faster than people expect.
You don’t want to find the perfect hotel only to discover it’s already sold out.

«How early should I start planning?»
Me:
Earlier than you think.
Seriously.
Every year people say:
«I’ll book next month.»
Then next month becomes October.
October becomes November.
Suddenly hotel prices double.
Flights become expensive.
The good experiences start selling out.
Planning early gives you more choices and usually better prices.

«Besides fireworks… what else is there to do?»
Me:
That’s actually the wrong question.
The better question is:
«What isn’t there to do?»
Most destinations don’t just celebrate for one night.
The entire holiday period can include:
• Street festivals
• Local markets
• Live concerts
• Food events
• River cruises
• Rooftop parties
• Family activities
• Cultural performances
The fireworks only last a few minutes.
Your trip lasts several days.

«Okay… where do people usually find all that information?»
Me:
That’s where I used to waste a ridiculous amount of time.
I’d open Google.
Then another website.
Then YouTube.
Then Reddit.
Then another travel blog.
Eventually I’d have twenty browser tabs open and still wouldn’t know where to stay.
